We’re looking for an experienced Finance Manager to join our EMEA Accounting team in Munich. In this role, you’ll be a key partner in supporting EMEA operations, overseeing aspects of controllership and accounting across multiple legal entities. You’ll drive the launch of new business initiatives, automate financial processes, and work with cross-functional teams in Business, Finance, legal and Tax to support Business rapid growth and strategic goals. This role requires strong accounting expertise, exceptional communication skills, and a proactive approach to managing, identifying, and communicating risks for a portfolio of high-impact projects to senior leadership. Key job responsibilities - Work independently to lead and provide Accounting project support to Amazons business and development teams with the design of new products or offerings and set-up of financial systems to ensure appropriate business support and controllership. - Deliver complex cross functional projects. - Identify and communicate project risks to senior leadership, along with clear recommendations for resolution or mitigation. - Direct responsibility and ownership in executing large scale process improvement opportunities within new business launches and existing processes and controls, including defining scope, goals and deliverables in collaboration with senior leadership and stakeholders. - Identify, develop and transition new processes to support month-end general ledger close activities, monthly account reconciliations and reviews, and preparation of various deliverables to support both internal and external financial reporting needs. - Coordination with the global accounting teams to establish and maintain strong communication channels. - Monitor quality of new automated accounting entries, financial reporting processes and controls to ensure highest standards are maintained. A day in the life [Finance and Global Business Services](https:amazon.jobsenbusiness_categoriesfinance) About the team [Amazon Affinity Groups](https:www.aboutamazon.comaffinity-groups) ### BASIC QUALIFICATIONS - Extensive relevant experience in an accounting role - Knowledge of various GAAP accounting rules including US GAAP and IFRS. - Working understanding of an internal control framework and a solid understanding of the concepts of control design and operational efficiency. - Experience participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results ### PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - Experience from a ‘Big 4’ accounting firm is a preferred. - Experience working for a US or International, medium to large fast-paced company. - Computer literate in general (MS office, Essbase, Cognos and similar). Knowledge of Oracle is a plus. - Proven track record of sound decision making, taking ownership and delivering results in a leadership role - Ability to dive deep into data, existing processes, people and technology challenges in order to identify issues and opportunities.
