*** Support Engineer – 12 months + ext. – Germany ***
On behalf of one of our key partners, RED now has a new opportunity for a Support Engineer to join a mission-critical program supporting public sector customers on Google Cloud.
The role is based in Germany, and requires someone to be based in Germany (Munich) on a hybrid working basis and fluent in English, German would be a plus.
Specific skills/experience required:
- 4+ years of experience with IaaS solutions (e.g., Kubernetes, virtualization, hybrid cloud) and cloud storage platforms
- Solid knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VPNs, VLANs, Routing, Load Balancing, etc.)
- Proven experience troubleshooting and resolving P1-level issues in multi-node environments
- Strong background in Linux, scripting (e.g., Python, Bash), and systems administration
- Experience in Technical Support, IT Operations, or Incident Management
- Comfortable working directly with customers and internal engineering teams
Preferred:
- Familiarity with Google Cloud or other public cloud providers
- Experience with hosted services/SaaS and scripting languages (Python, Go, Perl, Java, etc.)
- SQL/data analysis skills and cloud-native troubleshooting experience
- Prior involvement in deployments and customer onboarding within public sector environments
- Experience in distributed production environments and automation
