Project Engineer – Commercial & Industrial Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) – Germany (Remote/Hybrid Options Available)
We’re looking for a technically skilled Project Engineer to support the development, grid integration, and implementation of C&I battery storage systems across Germany. This role offers the opportunity to work at the heart of the energy transition, helping to deliver storage solutions that stabilize the grid and reduce energy costs for industrial partners.
The Role:
- Managing grid connection processes for battery projects from early feasibility through commissioning.
- Acting as the primary technical interface with Distribution System Operators (DSOs) and other regulatory bodies.
- Developing tailored grid integration concepts and technical connection strategies based on site-specific conditions.
- Preparing and submitting grid connection applications and supporting technical documentation.
- Defining system requirements and creating technical specifications for suppliers and contractors.
- Supporting procurement and managing the delivery of technical components and engineering services.
- Collaborating with internal commercial teams to align technical designs with business models and customer requirements.
- Responsible from feasibility through commissioning.
Your profile:
- A degree in electrical engineering or a comparable technical background – or equivalent industry experience.
- Experience with grid connection of energy systems in Germany – ideally with industry experience.
- Solid understanding of DSO procedures and technical standards for low and medium voltage grid integration.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to negotiate and coordinate.
- A structured, detail-oriented mindset and the ability to manage multiple projects in parallel.
- An eagerness to improve internal processes and contribute to a growing organization.
- German fluency is required. English considered a plus.
